About This Project
Knowetop Community Farm provides a service to local regeneration priority areas in West Dunbartonshire on environmental awareness and education, animal care and horticulture. The Farm offers training places to local unemployed people and school children.
Working with the Community
Most of the education and awareness training is carried out at the Farm and they now offer a school service on the premises. They also attend many local gala days and fundraising events bringing display boards and animals to these proceedings. A few examples of events they have attended include the \National Park at Lomond Shores, Levengrove Gala Day and Brucehill Nursery School.
Group visits to the Farm have been organised for over 2000 children. These young people are from schools throughout West Dunbartonshire. Local teachers have commented on the major improvem4nts and now look forward to new educations rooms at the Farm.
Disabled groups in West Dunbartonshire also visit Knowetop Farm and find the project both relaxing and therapeutic.
Young volunteers love helping out on the Farm and getting involved in the activities run there throughout the holidays.
